Essie Davidson Burger died on Friday, Feb. 3, 1995 at the home of her daughter, Frances Graham in Spartanburg, SC. Native of Lynchburg, VA and widow of Benjamin Fred Burger. Daughter of Walter and mary Carter Davidson and charter member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She served as Sunday School teacther and was a homemaker. Survivors included: two daughters; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. He was 90 years of age at his demise and interment was in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. James Newton Davidson,61, of 102 Orleans St., died at the home at 11:30 a.m. Friday after a long illness. A native of Mountain City, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Amanda Wagner Rhymer Davidson, early Johnson County residents. He was a retired employee of Johnson City Foundry and a member of True Gospel Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Maddie Burgess Davidson, a daughter, Mrs. Frances Proffitt, Johnson City, TN, a son, Rev. John Davidson, Johnson City, TN, a sister, Mrs. Margaret May, Glade Springs, VA, a half brother, Bernard Rhymer, Mountain City, eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Appalachian Funeral Home is in charge.
Funeral services for James N. Davidson, age 61, of 102 Orleans Street, Johnson City, TN. who died at the residence 11:30 a.m., Friday, will be held Sunday 2 p.m. from the Appalachian Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Horace Kilby to officiate. Interment in Monte-Vista Burial Park. Active pallbearers are to be selected from friends. Flowers bearers to be friends and neighbors. The body will remain at the chapel throughout the services, where family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday.

The deceased was a for-mer resident of Oakridge. Ore-gon and has resided at North Bend for the last one and one-half years. Besides her husband she is survived by one sister: Mrs. Violet Powell of Florence. Oregon and a nephew John Kirk of North Bend; also many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place at Poole-Larsen Chapel Saturday, June 17, at 2:00 P. M. Interment at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
