Irvin L. Flowers, 85, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 1995 at the Columbus Convalescent Center in Columbus, Indiana. He was born in Cumberland County on Dec 14, 1909, the son of Henry L. and Myra Davidson Flowers. He was a construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Bashia Flowers of Columbus ; four daughters, Lee Ann Frodge and Hilda Blanford, both of Columbus, Jo Ann Clark of Hopkinsville, Pauline Graves of Scottsville ; two brothers, Orestus Flowers of Burkesville, Roy Flowers of Gallatin, Tennessee ; one sister, Nora Cash of Bow ; twenty-four grandchildren ; thirty-three great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, July 6, 1995 at the Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel in Columbus, Indiana with burial in the Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus. Funeral Thursday
Funeral for Bashie W. Flowers, 76, of East 13th Street will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on Pearl Street, with the Rev. Mitchell J. Coggin officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Home Health Care.
Mrs. Flowers died at 5:49 p.m. Monday, April 29, 1996, at her home.
She was retired from the food service department at Columbus Regional Hospital, where she worked for 15 years.
Born in Ewing, Va., Jan. 14, 1918, she was the daughter of Dan and Mattie Smith Ayres. She married Irvin L. Flowers June 28, 1941, at Sullivan. He preceded her in death July 4, 1995.
Survivors include daughters, Hilda Blanford and Lee Ann Frodge, both of Columbus, Jo Ann Crank of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Pauline Graves of Scottsville, Ky.; sisters, Amanda Swarens of Ramsey and Mary Ehalt of Lakeland, Fla.; brothers, John Ayers of Plant City, Fla., Ernest and Carl Ayres, both of Portage, and Elbert Ayres of Ramsey; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 10 great–great–grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Flowers; and three brothers.

Funeral for Bashie W. Flowers, 78, of East 13th Street, was conducted Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell J. Coggin officiating. Organist was Ruthann Stam. Soloist was Cammila CHECK THIS Gehring.
Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom and Tim Blanford, J.E. Bullock, Brian Henderson, Jerry Flowers and John Flowers Jr.
Honorary pallbearer was Jeff Whittington.
Mrs. Flowers died Monday, April 29, 1996, at her home.
