Obituary, Ottumwa [IA] Daily Courier, Tuesday, October 30, 1906:
The funeral of James M. Crawley, who passed away at the family residence, 107 West Main street, yesterday morning were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home. Rev. E. J. Shook, pastor of the Willard Street Methodist Episcopal church, was in charge of the service at the residence. The G.A.R. assumed charge of the service at the cemetery. Pall bearers were T.R. Bickley, W.H. Fetser, A.E. McCue, J.M. Winn, A.H. Hamilton, and M.L. Kirk. Interment was made at the Ottumwa cemetery.

Maria Crawley Passes Away
Aged Resident Goes to Reward After Long Illness - Resided Here 38 Years
Mrs. Maria Crawley, mother of Constable Clarence A. Crawley, died yesterday afternoon at 9 o'clock at the family home, 1025 West Main street, after an illness of more than a year. For the past six weeks her condition has been very serious. Thirty-eight of the eighty-two years of her life had been passed in Wapello county. She was born in Indiana, October 4, 1829, and came to this country in 1874. After two years residence on a farm, she came to Ottumwa, where she had since resided. She has been a member of the Christian church since girlhood, and placed her letter in the first church of this city many years ago.
She leaves two sons and one daughter, Clarence, Ottumwa and W.P. Crawley and Mrs. Lizzie Deger, both of Minneapolis, Minn.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence, conducted by Rev. S. Isaac Elder, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church. Interment will be made in the Ottumwa cemetery. The pall bearers are Charles Hyatt, Maley Tullis, Henry Wagers, Alf Wheeler, George Pierce, and T.J. Hall.
