Did she marry Clarence, than after Clarence died, get back with first husband?
Query answer:
Emma Tenor was my mother's mother. You are correct she is the same that married Clarence Lehman. When your grandfather died I was only five years old and do not remember him. My sister does however. Interesting enough my grandmother and grandfather remarried (I think) after the death of your grandfather. As a little boy I remember my grandfather living with us and then what I remember from a few years later, my grandfather and grandmother were back together. I always assumed that they were married again, but do not know if they did remarry or just got back together. Michael Shimeall

Worked in a water wheel driven mill that turned stone disks to grind the grain into flour and corn meal. The owner of the mill was a man named Phelps. In 1900, the Chicago Gret Western built a shop at Oelwein to repair the cars and he worked as a car repairman. He worked outside, as there was no shop to house the cars as have today. He worked outside one day when the temperature reached 42 degrees below zero, and said "that if he would have known that, he would not have worked that day". In 1905, he had inflamatory rheumatism and he could not work for six months when his doctor told him that he had better move to a drier climate. So, Dec 5th, he arrived in La Junta, Colorado. Possibly, this move was arranged by the railroad. In 1906, he filed on a 1/4 section of land six miles North of town. He children were old enouigh by then to work the fams. They bought stock and raised broom corn and milo maize. By 1912, the family had improved the claim to six head of horse and nineteen head of cattle.
