I hope it is new or of help! Ahabs daughter Mary Rebecca Davidson did marry a Jonathan 'John' Veach who I think is the same person working on the "farm" near Batavia, Iowa. They had five children according to the documents found. He was 37 yrs and she 35 yrs old and the fifth child was Berta Ray Veach who married my g-grandmothers sister, Katherine Luella Hein. Ray and Katherine had one son Lawrence who it is believed was adopted from a sister in the family. I do not have the names of John and Marys' children yet but will try to get them on my next trip up to Iowa. This individual is not listed with family in 1870 census. TOO MANY TWINS
Population Problem Is Facing Hospital
A problem in over-population is being pondered at Richmond hospital today.
In the last week no less than three sets of twins have been born at the hospital and the nursery is filled to capacity.
On June 15, Mr and Mrs James A. Davidson of 4647 Hilltop drive, El Sobrante, became the parents of Orren Gerald and Mary Kathleen Davidson. Three days later came John Ray Hager, Jr and his sister Valerie Lee, children of Mr and Mrs John R Hager of 245 First street, Richmond.
And yesterday, Curtis Lee Burkhart and his brother James Gilber, sons of Mr and Mrs Donald C Burkhart of 129 Eddy Street, Richmond, were delivered.
The six youngsters, all healthy and active, very nearly filled the hospital nursery to capacity. The situation is expected to be relieved today when the Davidson twins go home.
But ol' man stork, a tricky character, could renew the crib shortage again tomorrow by delivering another double-bundle.

MRS. MARY VEACH, BATAVIA PIONEER, TO BE 85 FRIDAY Batavia, IA May - Mrs. Mary Veach will observe her 85th birth-day anniversary Friday. She was formerly Mary Davidson and was born in Lexington, Ky., May 28, 1852, coming to Iowa in a covered wagon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abab Davidson, when a girl. They located in Johnson county and later moved to a farm west of Batavia. She has lived here since with the exception of seven years in Canada.
In 1871 she married Jonathan Veach, who died in 1905. while the family was in Canada.
A daughter, Mrs. Ella Chamber- tin, Minneapolis, and two sons. Ray, Ottumwa, and Ross, Batavia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren comprise the fam-ily.
Mrs. Veach is very active, living alone and doing all her own work. She has a clear memory and en-joys radio entertainment.
Mrs. Veach remembers attend-ing the old Elin Grove school, west of town. It was one of the first schoolhouses in Wapello county. It was built of logs and the seats were rough-hewn boards held to blocks of wood with wood-en pegs. There were no backs to the seats nor desks. Writing les-sons were at a shelf built along the wall.
