obit:
Thomas D. Davidson was born to George Thomas and Ruby May Davidson on September 10, 1947 in Dodge City, Kansas.
After graduation in 1965 from La Crosse High School in Kansas he proudly served 22 months in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army.
After returning to his beloved Kansas he lived in Ulysses where he was controller and part owner of Ansel Manufacturing as well as VP and AG loan officer with Grant County Bank.
After a period of transition, Tom relocated to Fresno, CA where he found the love of his life, Linda Jean and married her on October 10, 2003. He was also blessed to share his life with his two loving children, Matthew and Mandy.
Through life's many journeys, Tom's strength and spirit have always remained rooted in the dirt of his beloved Kansas family farm located on the Pawnee Creek near Dodge City, Kansas. He's gone home '96 ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
One day Linda Jean will join Tom at his final resting place.
He is survived by his wife Linda Jean Davidson, his son Matthew Braxton Davidson of Oakland, CA. and daughter Christine Davidson, of Denver, CO. his one and only sister Ellie Gruensfelder and her husband Al of Atlanta, GA.; his stepsons Matthew Braunstein and wife Becky, Chris Braunstein and wife Renee; stepdaughter Jennifer Rubio and husband Roman.
He is also survived by his grandchildren:
Joshua (11yrs)
Emily (8yrs)
Ashley (2yrs)

'THOMAS J. DAVIDSON, ex-sheriff of Lewis l and Clarke county, Mont., is one of the leading citizens of Helena. He was born in Franklin county, Mo., in March, 1856, and was reared and educated in Missouri, where he was a farmer until 1882, when he came to Helena. Here he associ-ated himself with his brother, A. J. Davidson, in the sale of agricultural implements. In 1883 he re-moved to Fort Benton, but soon returned to Helena where he has since made his home. In March, 1893, Mr. Davidson was made deputy United States marshal under Marshal William McDer-mott and served as such until his election as sheriff of Lewis and Clarke county, in 1896. Politically Mr. Davidson has been a lifelong Democrat, and is a prominent and influential worker in the interests of that party. Fraternally he is a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen and of the Knights of Pythias. In the course of his offi-cial duties it was the lot of Sheriff David-son to execute Joseph H. Allen, who was hanged on September 14, 1899, for the murder of J. S. Reynolds. In 1886 Sheriff Davidson was united in marriage to Miss Aurora Roy, also a na-tive of Missouri. They have two sons, Samuel R. and Harold A. Mr. Davidson is popularly known in the state and numbers a wide circle of friends in the community in which he resides. CO. H MONUMENT IS DEDICATED
HAMILTON'S GREAT SPEECH
Capt. W. J. Watson Also Made an Eloquent Address on the Occasion
Life Like Picture of a Soldier in Full Uniform Makes Strong Picture in Cemetery
The monument to the memory of the members of Compauv H,. twentieth Kansas. who gave their lives for their country was unveiled yesterday afternoon. In addition to this being a monument to the dead it is likewise a monument to every member of the famous company. As each goes to join the silent majority his name will be engraved upon the imonumnet so that in time it will be a monument to the entire membership of this f'ighling company.
General Wilder S. Metealf was master of the ceremonies. The band played for the exercises. It marched into the lot preceded by the present company. K. N. G. Senator Chad Hamilton, of Topeka. was the first speaker. His address was one of the first ever heard in this city and the large number who heard him were charmed bv his simple eloquence and his patriotic statements. Senator Hamilton was a member of the Twentieth Kansas and pparticipated throughout the war with that famous regiment. He came home as captan and has the deepest affection pf every member of the regiment.
In his address yesterday Senator Hamilton told in simpte terms but eloquent grouping of words the story of the young soldier. It was the most eloquent address on patriotic subjects one could imagine and it thrilled the-hearts of all who heard it.
The next speaker Capt. W. J. Watson wlio made a strong patriotic address. Capt. Watson lost a leg in the Philippines and he paid a great tribute to the soldiers. He dwelt largely on the experiences in the army and recounted the heroism of the members of Company II. His address was beautifully prepared ami dealt in patriotic subjects in a manner calculated to arouse the deepest feelings of love for the country in the heart's of his hearers. Capt. Watson is an earnest speaker and his address was a great one.
The entire occasion was a memorable one. The dav was ideal, the situation was impressive and the addresses weie along the right lines. There was not a word in the addresses that did not universally closelv follow the subjects.
The moniimenl is a beautiful one. It stands high and shows the Iigure of a soldier in full uniform. It is of a voung soldier, but Captain Hamilton declared that there were nosoldiers. Some of them became old afterwards but the1ml the soldiers were he young men of today.
The flag that covered the monument was shouded in immense flags and they were gracefully lifted bv Agusta Dicker, Mary Davidson, Edith Davidson, Grace Davidson and James Davidson. These childrens parents were members of Company H.
The monument was designed from photographs taken of Dave Horkmans. Dave posed in many ways and the statue of the soldier was made from these photographs by the workmen at the quarries at Bedford, Indiana.

Thomas Engart (brother in law) to appraise estate of Thomas Davidson, 3/9/1840.
Botetourt Personal Property Tax List
1800 - is the first year for any record for Thomas Davidson in Botetourt (Thomas M's father)
Per Bill:
In 1820, Thomas Davidson, JUNIOR appeared for the first time, along with Thomas Davidson, SENIOR. They were shown as "Senior" and "Junior" from 1820 through 1830, and then in 1831, they were shown for the first time as Thomas Davidson and Thomas M. Davidson (and they were shown that way from then on). Per my notes (which may not be "perfect"), Thomas M. Davidson was shown on the 1837 tax list, but the older Thomas Davidson was not (apparently for the first time since 1800).
