A man about 30 years of age, who gave hs name as Martin V. Davidson, from Wytheville, Virginia, came to the Exchange Hotel about 12th inst. and engaged boarding. He cmplained of being sick and soon took to his bed. A physician was called, who treated him. His disease was lung fever, to which was added also jaundice. Everything that medical skill could was done for him, but without effect, and on Monday evening last, 22nd inst.,he died --literally "a stranger in a strange land."But he was well cared for, and Mr D Getzman, of the Exchange, had him decenty buried. Rev. M.L. Willhelm of the Lutheran church officiated, and the funeral was attended by a few sympathizing friends. He was a miner and had been working here and at Dover for about a year. An attempt was made to communicate with his relatives but without success.

Death in a Strange Land
On Friday, April 12th, a man named Martin V. Davidson, came to the Exchange ?? this city.He was not feeling bery well at the time, and in a day or two went to bed with Lung Fever. He continued getting worse, and on Sunday, Jaundice developed itself, and on Monday he died and was buried in Philadelphia cemetery on Tuesday. He told Mr. Getzman that he had a wife and family in Wytheville, Virginiaand that his father, John Davidson, also lived there, but a telegram to that point was eleicited no reply. He was about 30 years old.A letter was found in his pocket, from a cousin, named Sallie Dickenson, Lebanon, Va.
