Dwigth T. Harris was suddenly called to Kansas City Monday, by the death of his aunt, Mrs. Jones.

Died at Kansasn City, Mo., February 4, after an illness of many months. Mrs. Martha E., wife of Phillip T. Jones. M rs. Jones was born in Jefferson County, Misouri, June 4, 1844, and came to the territory of Kansas with her parents when but a child. Her father, Mr. Jordan Davidson, like many others in the slave states in those days was conscientously opposed to the institution of slavery, and came with his family to the new territory to assist in making it a free state. The home was made near Lawrence, and hear Miss Davidson grew to womanhood. For some years she lived in Lawrence, and while here united with the Methodist church.
She was a sister gf Mrs. E. P. Harris, for many years past a resident of Lecompton township.
Her marriage to Mr. Jones was at Fort Lyon. Col. For the past thirteen years they have lived in Kansas City. Two children were born to them\emdash Alice and Alphooso M. , both of them now living.
Mrs. Jones was of a sunny, happy na-ture, and was much beloved by all. The poor always found in her a friend, and with hand and purse she assisted many a struggling soul.
Her last hours were a witness to her faithful Christian life, and she passed peacefully away, foll in the faith that she was about to enter upon the joys of the heavenly land.
Her remains rest in Elmwood cemetery,Kansas City.
