Mrs. Almira Wearren, one of the most highly respected, Christian ladies of the McCreary section of the county, died at her home Sunday of heart dis-ease. She was seventy four years of age and was the widow of the late Howard Wearren. She is survived by one brother, Abner Davidson of Kan-sas City Mo., two sisters, Mrs. Ashley Gulley of this county and Mrs. Mary Cole of Richmond, Ky., four sons, Or-ris, Brutus, Clarence and Porter Wear-ren, of this county and two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Wearren of this county and Mrs. Dr. Peel of Decatur Il ls: She was the aunt of Messrs J. D. Gulley and L. G. Davidson of this place. Mrs. Wearren was a life long and faithful member of the Christian church and after services at the grave Monday a fternoon by her pastor, Rev. F. M. Tinder, her remains were laid to rest in the Lancaster Cemetery.

Alonzo L. "Banjo" Davidson, 87, of Ironton died Friday at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Roanoke, Va., native was born Aug. 1, 1916, the son of Delbert and Viola Davidson, both deceased. He was the husband of Mary Myrtle Prince Davidson, who survives.

He was a retired laborer from Ironton Firebrick Company and was a Protestant. He graduated high school in Roanoke, Va., and was a World War II Army veteran. He had lived in the Ironton area since 1946.

In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by a son, Dave Davidson; two daughters, Joan and Judy Davidson; and two brothers, Leonard and Arnold Davidson.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister-in-law, Thelma Brammer of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Buckeye Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Lavender officiating. There will be no visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

No clear evidence that Andrew is son of John. Potentially one of the sons in 1840 census, although there appears to be another family with them, an older lady. I wonder if Martin and Andrew are the same person...can't locate Andrew in 1850.
