PUNTA GORDA ISLES, Fla. - Carolyn Rice Milkey died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at the Peace River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 100.

She was born May 17, 1905, in Richmond, Ky., and lived in Mountain Lakes prior to moving to Punta Gorda Isles, Fla.

She was a teacher for many years and had received her master's degree in education from Columbia University in New York City.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy Carol (Everett) Dayton of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Sarah Jane Morgan of Port Charlotte, Fla.; her eight grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; her two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dr. Robert L. Rice of Richmond, Ky.

There will be a graveside service in Richmond, Ky., at a later date.
