Earl Egbert was born in Ingalls, Kansas, on December 25, 1917 to P.C. and Bertha Egbert. He passed away on June 30, 2012 at Horizon's Care Center in Eckert, Colorado, at 94 years of age.
Earl grew up on the ranch near Ingalls, graduating from Ingalls High School in 1935. In 1935 during the great depression and dirt storms, it was unsafe to put the school busses on the road and the last six weeks of school were called off. The seniors were called in and given their diplomas. Earl was very proud to receive his Eagle Boy Scout Badge on the same night his scoutmaster did.
Earl started running a service station in Kiowa, Kansas at the age of 18. Earl married Perle Davidson on October 23, 1937. To this union four children were born: Kenneth, Dennis, Ramona and Vic. Earl lost his loving wife of 56+ years on April 8, 1994. During their married life, Earl and Perle farmed for a short while in western Kansas, but moved to Burlington, Colorado in 1943 where they purchased a farm and ranch. They moved to Matheson, Colorado in 1945 where they continued ranching and farming. They later moved to Delta, Colorado in 1954 where Earl opened a real estate office. Earl wanted to get back into farming and moved to Limon, Colorado in 1959. Earl ranched and opened another real estate office which he operated until 1970 when he moved back to western Colorado, moving to Grand Junction for a few years before moving to Cedaredge where he opened another real estate office for six years before retiring.
Earl lived in Cedaredge until 1996 when he moved to Grand Junction where he resided until his death. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Grand Junction.
Earl is survived by his son, Kenneth (Barbara) of Cedaredge, Colorado; daughter, Ramona Watson of Grand Junction; and a son, Vic (Tami) of Grand Junction. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jeff Egbert, Kelly Reeder, Craig Egbert, Derek Egbert, Shane Egbert, Terri Reynolds, Laurie Verbel and Nathan Egbert; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Burford, Merl, Ray, Ora and Gilbert; sister, Elda Mehl; and a son, Dennis.

RE: Leroy Davidson who married Adaline.
He is easy to find in the 1830 census because of all the slaves in his household. Bill pointed out the 1850 census record for his wife Adaline. He must have died in Ky. I see Adaline in Hinds Co., MS. I see where someone has listed Adaline as a Moore. It would be interesting to know how Leroy or Adaline came by all those slaves. I think he placed them in trust with Thomas M Bondurant because he did not want them attached by the court as a result of any kind of civil suit. He was a deft. in a suit by Ellis and Robert Hunter, exors of Robert Hunter decd., and I see where he had one son named Ellis and one named Robert. I had wondered if Adaline might not have been a Hunter. ALSO, one Robert Hunter appraised the estate of Alexander Davidson in Campbell Co.

The "Buckingham Moores" that I see in my files started with a Benjamin Moore (much of my information was supplied by other researchers). Benjamin and his unknown wife apparently had sons named Capt. Robert J. Moore (who married Jane Perkins Moseley; she was born 12 Feb 1810), Henry Moore and William Moore. Robert J. Moore and his wife Jane had Adeline Sarah Jane Moore, and she married Leroy Oglesby Davidson on 14 Mar 1828. Leroy was a son of Rev. Samuel and Frances (Oglesby) Davidson (died 1861 in Appomattox Co., VA). The Reverend Davidson apparently lived in the part of Campbell Co., VA that became Appomattox Co., VA in 1845 (one post states that he was the minister of Red Oak Baptist Church for about 50 years). Leroy and his family left VA, and he is said to be buried in Christian Co., KY. Leroy's wife Adeline is said to be buried in Jackson, MS (Greenwood Cemetery).

Southern Illinoisan, Carbondale, Illinois, 16 Jul 1961 - Leroy Davidson, 83, West Frankfort, died at 4 a.m. Saturday at his home. He had been ill 11 years. Mr. Davidson operated a jewelry store in West Frankfort for 15 years. He also worked at Orient 2 mine and retired from that job 11 years ago. He belonged to the United Mine Workers of America Local 125 and the West Frankfort First Baptist Church.
Born Oct. 29, 1878, in Effingham, he was the son of Frank and Kathleen Brown Davidson. Mr. Davidson leaves his wife Agnes; sons, Paul, Raymond, Wayne; daughters, Mrs. Thelma Page and Mrs. Art Walker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the West Frankfort First Baptist Church with the Rev. John LaNoue, West Frankfort Second Baptist Church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Brady Cemetery near Whittington.

Southern Illinoisan, Carbondale, Illinois, 4 Aug 1974 - Agnes Davidson, 90, of West Frankfort died Friday at 1:40 p.m. in Union Hospital in West Frankfort. She was born in Ava, June 21, 1884, to Robert and Mary Jane Weaver McKown.
She was married to Preston Davidson who preceded her in death in 1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Frankfort.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Walker and Thelma Page; three sons, Wayne, Raymond and Paul; a sister, Mary E. Clem; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort. The Rev. Otto Brown will officiate with burial in the Brad Cemetery, Akin.
