WADE-STARR
A Brilliant Wedding at the Residence of Mr. H. A. Wade.
At 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon numer-ous friends and relatives assembled In the spacious parlors of Mr. A. B. Wade, one of our oldest settlers, to witness the marriage of his daughter, Ida D. and (Charles)E. Starr, of Eudora.
At 5 o'clock. Miss Bell presiding at the piano, the Mendelssohn Wedding March was heard, and the bride and groom entered and took their place in the center of the parlors under a bell formed of eveigTeens, a horse shoe hanging within. Mr. Frank Wade of-ficiated as best man, while Miss Starr attend-ed the bride.
When the music stopped. Dr. Marvin com-menced the service, which was very impres-sive. After congratulations the march was resumed and the groomsman and brides-maid, followed by the bride and groom, led the way to the dining hall, where a aumptur ou* supper was waiting.
The bride was attired in satin aad orien-tal lace covered with beads, with orange blossoms in her hair and dress. Miss Starr wore a corn-colored silk with Japanese lace and natural flowers. The groom and best man wort the conventional black.
After a late hour the assemblage return-ed to their homes wishing the newly wed-ded couple all the joy and prosperity that they so richly deserve. No happy pair ever had fairer prospects or more friends to bid them God speed. Many elegant presents were given as tokens of esteem, including a fine upright McCammon piano by bride's parents.

Most heartv congratulations were extended bride and groom '97upon whom the years have set so lightly. Then the guests were ushered into the dining room, where a real feast of everything good and delicious had been prepared by the skillful hands of Mrs. Maurice Starr, in honor of the occasion.
There was but one thing to mar the happiness of the day; that was the unavoidable absence of nearly all of the members of the family circle, viz: Mr. and Mrs. Lane, of Spring Hill, Kansas. Harry Starr of Oklahoma, and Chas. Starr of Manilla, Philippine Islands, but loving messages and a token of remembrance came from the abence ones, also from other relatives and frienda. Those present were Mrs. Charles Starr and son of Lawrence. Mrs. A. C. Walker and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Kendall and Mrs. Laura Cloud and daughter.

"Harvey Yantis who lived on the hill above the Old Antioch Church stone church. He, I think, lived well into his nineties. He must have died before 1900. As I remember, old Dr Kincaid attended him in his last days and drove a horse and buggy and he would stop and take me with him to open the gates and he always gae me a nickel which pleased me very much as it was few nickels boys 6 or 7 years old had at that time."
