Bill Bricker, age 73, of Hot Springs Village died Friday, March 17, 2006.

He was born August 6, 1932 at Watson, Illinois, a son of the late Glen William Bricker and Ruth C. Davidson Bricker

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion.

He was a cable splicer for General Telephone (GTE) for 42 years before his retirement.

He had resided in Hot Springs Village since 1994 and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Faye Niemann Bricker, to whom he was married on January 1, 1958 at Buckley, Illinois; two sons, Timothy W. Bricker of Vandalia, Illinois and Thomas W. Bricker of Thomasboro, Illinois; two daughters, Debra F. Lehman of Loda, Illinois and Linda M. Hettler of Grayslake, Illinois; two sisters, Alberta Marek of Dixon, Missouri and Doris Woodward of Hardy, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 20, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Henry W. Behling and Rev. Mark D. Carnahan officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery in Paxton, Illinois. Funeral arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services of Pine Bluff.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1196 DeSoto Blvd., Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.

James Elba Briggs, 89, of Alma, Ark, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 in Fort Smith, Ark.

He was retired from Contel Telephone Company, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was born Aug. 28, 1921 in Lost City to James E. and Vina Smith Briggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Grace Davidson Briggs; a sister, Marjorie Warne, and nephew, David Briggs.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Highland Cemetery in Ozark with military honors, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Sue Temple, and husband, Donald, of Alma, Ark.; grandson, Wyatt Smith, of Ozark, Ark.; great grandson, Chris Smith, of Ozark, Ark.; a brother, Jack Briggs, and his wife, Nila, of Wagoner; two nieces, Jan Wade, of Illinois, and Lori Bliss, of Missouri; three nephews, Mike Briggs, of Oklahoma, Rob James and Douglas James, of Arkansas; and several great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
