Lanis was born in Burkesville, KY on August 29, 1935. He was the son of the late Lennie Long Davidson Ward, and the late William "Wid" Jennings Bryan Davidson. He died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in Glasgow, Barren Co., KY, at the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 5 days.
He was a longtime employee of the Marion Co., IN, School System.

This a placeholder for Thomas Davidson of Botetourt County, Virginia. Thomas appears to have been in Campbell County up until late 1790s, than appeared in Botetourt County in 1800 thru 1810 (the latest tithes I have access to). Thomas appeared on the 1810, 1820 and 1830 censuses in Botetourt Co., VA. Age is based on being at least 21, and assumption this is the same Thomas who signed the marriage bond for Joseph Davidson and Elizabeth Snow in 1786. I show Joseph as a brother to Thomas.
Note: A Thomas Davidson sold his land in Frederick County MD, the same year that James son William sold his in 1792 .(James and William of German, PA are highly likely DNA 7, based on Samule Davidson statement of being born a few miles North of Taneytown. ) This Thomas Davidson's land was very near James and part of it was in Maryland and part in Pennsylvania just as James Davidson Sr.'s was.
DNA testing has shown that Thomas is part of family 7:

Per Bill:
In 1820, Thomas Davidson, JUNIOR appeared for the first time, along with Thomas Davidson, SENIOR. They were shown as "Senior" and "Junior" from 1820 through 1830, and then in 1831, they were shown for the first time as Thomas Davidson and Thomas M. Davidson (and they were shown that way from then on). Per my notes (which may not be "perfect"), Thomas M. Davidson was shown on the 1837 tax list, but the older Thomas Davidson was not (apparently for the first time since 1800).
Note: The ages do not line up, the 1830 census showing Thomas a bit younger than the earlier two census.

I am now aware of an 1815 deed that listed all of William and Martha (Baker) Davidson's children, and the Elizabeth "Betsy Ann" Davidson who had an affair with David Smith in Botetourt was NOT listed. So, it now seems certain that Elizabeth was out of the Thomas Davidson who was on the Botetourt censuses in 1810, 1820 and 1830.....and hence, Elizabeth was probably a sister of DNA "Family 7" Thomas M. Davidson of Botetourt. Since Elizabeth's family was closely associated with a Michael McClure, and since a Michael McClure had married a daughter of the older Thomas Davidson in Botetourt, a "connection" between Elizabeth "Betsy Ann" Davidson and Thomas Davidson had already seemed quite likely to me....and now I believe that we can all "take it to the bank." The Hannah Davidson who was listed as a pauper on the 1850 Botetourt census may also have been out of the older Thomas Davidson (there was also no mention of Hannah on the above-referenced 1815 deed).
